Multicultural Australians get behind Gippsland Bushfire Appeal

On Leap Day 2020, the Fijian Indian community got together and held a fundraising event attended by more than 130 people at the Cinnamon Club restaurant in Moorabbin.      Presented by Yadra, the organisers (Kavity Kalvan and Vijay Kumaran) were happy to donate  directly to GERF.  Jen Singh hosted the evening which included a 3-course meal, live Indian music and vibrant Indian dancing.

With a history of being residents in Gippsland, the organisers felt especially drawn to the cause and managed to raise $2,000 through tickets, auctions and raffle draws.   Photo shows organisers Kavita Kalvan and Vijay Kumuran along with MC Jen Singh presenting GERF’s Andy Tegart with the cheque.
